I have merged the Top 10 Best Sleep Deprivation Movies, Top 10 Best Depression Movies and Top 10 Best Insomnia Movies. Keep in mind this is NOT a list for "Most Depressing Movies," rather for movies dealing with depression and/or sleep disorders!

I think there's a good reason I've only seen about a dozen of these. And I hated most of those. The only ones I liked were the ones with enough humor to make up for the super-sepressing stuff. About a Boy -- awesome!!

Melissa, there are a handful of movies on that list that are not too dark or disturbing! You've already mentioned About a Boy, but I also think you would really, really enjoy Stealing Home! Other movies on this list that are somewhat lighthearted, uplifting, or not disturbing include: Waking Life, Better Off Dead, Garden State, The Station Agent, Dark City, Cashback, Numb, While You Were Sleeping, Sleeping Beauty, What Dreams May Come, Caffeine and Into the Night.
